The E3 2017 Wishlist

Posted in Kulturecade by - June 08, 2017

E3 is approaching fast, and more and more things are getting confirmed or debunked for an appearance. Here is my wish list for what I want at E3. These are in particular order, and they are not necessarily what I think are likely to happen. Without further ado, my wish list.

Sony Buys a Platinum Series

This one isn’t very likely to happen, but I would love to see it happen. I would love to see that Sony bought the rights to Scalebound and that it’s now a PS4 exclusive. Another possibility I would love is that Sony paid the money for the Bayonetta rights and either Bayonetta 3 for PS4 or a Bayonetta remaster and Bayonetta 2 PS4 port. The final big platinum game I would love to see would be Metal Gear Rising: Revengence 2. With Kojima currently working with Sony, it would be cool to see Platinum and Kojima team up for a second one.

Death Stranding Release Date

This is another one I don’t really think will happen at this E3, but I would love it. We haven’t really seen much about Death Stranding in quite a while. I do believe that we’ll get a new trailer for the game, but a release date, or even year, would definitely be a big pop from the crowd. It’d be hard for a press conference to top a Death Stranding release date.

Devil May Cry 5

Not DmC: Devil May Cry 2, I mean a legitimate, mainline sequel to the original series. The fans want it, and it would be a good move on Capcom, who aren’t exactly in great graces right now. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition sold well when it came out, and got good reviews so I feel like another entry in the mainline series is the next step for the franchise. Whether that will happen or not, I do not know. Hideaki Itsuno teased a that he would be announcing a new game, and I can only hope it will be a new Devil May Cry.

Windjammers Remaster Release Date

I’ve already written one article about my love for Windjammers, and how I lost a bet for a Hardee’s big chicken filet sandwich. With the beta happening June 8-12, E3 would be the perfect place to announce an official release date. A lot of people are excited about the game. Austin Creed, aka WWE Superstar Xavier Woods, already did a video about the beta, so it definitely has a following. E3 should be when the announcement is made, preferably after a tournament.

More PlayStation 1 Remakes

The PS1 had so many good games, and the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy gives me hope for more remakes. Crash Team Racing would be a good candidate since it’s technically the fourth Crash game. I would love to see the first three Spyro games remade in a similar fashion. An Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes remake would be a fun one. I loved that game as a kid. Parasite Eve was a great RPG that enough people played; I would love to see Square Enix okay a remake.
These are the things that I would love to see at E3 this year. While I’m pretty sure the majority of them won’t happen, E3 is so unpredictable that they just might happen. All I can do is hold out hope.
