Reefer Madness

Posted in Kulturecast by - September 21, 2015

On this week’s Kulturecast we, along with frequent guest co-host Sean Liang, close in on the end of our Singin’ September marathon with another stage to screen adaptation: Reefer Madness. A parody of the 1930’s propaganda film, the film follows Christian Campbell and Kristin Bell as they are taken over by the effects of the devil weed, and sink into decadence and depravity. It also features Alan Cumming, John Kassir, Steven Weber, Ana Gasteyer, and Neve Campbell in a cameo role. It’s a hilarious send-up of 1930’s America, along with some truly inspired musical numbers. We also speak with Christian Campbell, who played Jimmy Harper in the film.
