Into the Abyss

Chris and Sean continue their Werner Herzog retrospective with a look at Herzog’s documentary on capital punishment: Into the Abyss. The film focuses on two death row inmates, Michael Perry and Jason Burkett, as one awaits execution along with speaking with victim’s families and those surrounding them. It’s an interesting, hands-off look at capital punishment in America and how the system affects those who live in it.

The new intro and outro music is Wovoka’s “Lament”, and big thanks to them for allowing us to use their song. You can also subscribe to the Kulturecast on iTunes here. Also, don’t forget to check out our official Facebook page for news, upcoming reviews, contests, and new content.
