'X-Men Apocalypse' Poster Revealed at Comic-Con

'X-Men Apocalypse' Poster Revealed at Comic-Con

A poster and trailer for the upcoming Bryan Singer directed followup in the X-Men franchise has been unveiled at Comic Con. Emblazoned across the top of the poster is the name, 'En Sabah Nur,' which in Marvel cannon is the birth name of the nearly immortal and ancient villain popularly known as (duh) Apocalypse.

Unfortunately the trailer hasn't been revealed to the public, and try as I might I couldn't find a shady link for you folks at home to view it, but the following things have been said by Singer regarding the plot.

Speaking at Comic-Con, Director Bryan Singer introduced the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer by saying that the film opens on a world that has come to accept mutants for the most part, due to Mystique’s (Jennifer Lawrence) actions in the end of Days of Future Past. It’s 1983, and for unknown reasons, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) has awoken.

It begins as Jean Grey (Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner) has a vision of the end of the world. “All I could feel is death.” Professor X (James McAvoy) assures her that it was only a dream.

We’re introduced to Apocalypse: an ancient, god-like mutant who has been around since the dawn of human kind. He speaks:

”I’ve been called many things over many lifetimes... There to spark the fire of man’s awakening, to spin the wheel of civilization.... You were all my children. You’re lost, because you followed blind leaders. Everything they’ve built will fall. From the ashes of their world, we’ll build a better one.”
