It’s a Disaster, It’s an Incredible Mess: Kulture Shocked’s Disaster Movie Marathon

Posted in The Screening Room by - March 01, 2015

Last month we delved into the wonderful world of science fiction, and while we hit some real stinkers (looking at you Deep Impact and Species), we had a great time enjoying some new and old classics. This month however, we’ve decided to take on a genre that is seen as just for the summer crowd: disaster movies. They have been relegated to the summer crowd since it is perceived that they offer nothing in the way of true film quality or memorable characters. Well, this month we’ve decided to see if all of those feelings are misplaced or are actually true. Our list has some classics, newer films, and even a couple remakes thrown in for good measure. We encourage you to follow along as we take on the wonderful genre that always seems to cause billions of dollars in damage!
