Watch The ‘Whiplash’ Proof-Of-Concept Short Film

Posted in The Screening Room by - March 02, 2015

While I didn’t see Whiplash until early this year, it has surely supplanted Tusk as my favorite film of last year. While, according to people I know who are know people part of big-time music programs, the film isn’t realistic, it’s still a fantastic film. That hinges mainly on the performance of JK Simmons as Terence Fletcher for which he won the Oscar for supporting actor. However, the film started as a proof-of-concept by the director Damien Chazelle which featured Simmons as Fletcher. If you’re still on the fence as to whether or not to watch Whiplash, give the short film a watch, it’s straight out of the final film but it’s one of the best scenes.
