‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer: DC Continues to World Build

Posted in The Screening Room by - July 13, 2015

As with yesterday’s Batman vs. Superman trailer, DC has released their Comic-Con trailer for Suicide Squad. It doesn’t show much, frankly it shows less in actuality than the BvS trailer did, it does feature the first officially look at Jared Leto as the Joker. We also get a chance to see all of the characters along with some quick cuts of action, and a look at Batman’s cameo in the film.

Suicide Squad opens August 5, 2016.

Side note: While I understand the frustration from Warner Brothers and David Ayer regarding the leak of the footage from Hall H at Comic-Con, it must be understood and accepted that these things are going to happen. They have happened for as long as phones have had cameras on them and those of us who can’t make it to Comic-Con due to money, jobs, and other things want to see the footage. While I understand that exclusivity is a driving factor for why many go to Comic-Con, as long as that exclusivity exists the bootlegging of footage will exist as well. One has to adapt to the times and understand that this is going to keep happening, and there is no way of stopping it short of having a cellphone turn in at the entrance to each hall.
