WWE Smackdown Recap 4/16/2015: Why do we watch the WWE?

Posted in The Three Count by - April 17, 2015

I don’t understand it. I’m starting to think that the WWE thinks we’re just a bunch of lemmings, maybe even masochists because we’re just gluttons for punishment. Masochist Lemmings. We should get that trending on Twitter, #MasochistLemmings? It’ll probably do just as well as #GiveDivasAChance. There are only two matches worth watching from this past night’s Smackdown, and you’re better off catching the highlights on the WWE’s Youtube Channel.

Bray Wyatt vs R-Truth

I was confused here. Wyatt doesn’t make many Smackdown appearances, so why he was facing R-Truth, I have no idea. Wyatt wins handedly, and on the whole it’s a pretty boring match. Although, R-Truth’s reaction to Wyatt’s creepy inversion was priceless.

Bad News Barrett vs The Miz

Why? This match was over in three seconds. Bell, Bullhammer, cover. Game. Set. Match.

Neville vs Sheamus

Sheamus is probably my favorite heel right now, and for good reason. He’s thuggish, a bully, and an all around formidable force. Against him we have Neville, and this guy is a freak. A straight phenom who has been making waves on the main roster. Neville is incredibly exciting to watch and I’m excited to see where he goes.

Los Matadores vs The New Day

I’m really over the Tag Team division. The New Day wins this match quickly, however, New Day Sucks *Clap Clap*

Fandango vs Adam Rose

Why?

Natalya vs Cameron vs Alicia Fox

Paige is out of commission until further notice, so we need a new front runner to challenge for the Diva’s Belt. What better way to solve this conundrum then to have a Triple Threat Match? Again, all we see is the mediocrity that is inherent in WWE’s Diva division. I will admit Natalya looked strong, and wrestled well, but for some reason the WWE is building this feud between Natalya, Cameron, and Fox. So of course, Cameron sneaks off with the win and Fox throws a tantrum in the middle of the ring. Real Mature.

Champions Tag Team Match

In an amusing turn of events, last night’s main event pitted  the Intercontinetal Champ, Daniel Bryan, and the US Champ, John Cena, against the Tag Team Chaps, Tyson Kidd & Cesaro. This was the other match worth watching. Cesaro once again displays his raw brute strength. Daniel Bryan, takes on Tyson Kidd & Cesaro due to their incessant need for interference because they can’t win cleanly. Also, LOL Cena Wins. In a match that was supposed to answer the question of who the best WWE Champions were, we saw classic Bryan and Cena. I said a month or two ago that Kidd & Cesaro were not good champions. Look to another Tag Team to unseat them.

Once again, we have an episode of Smackdown that it’s cool if you miss it. There wasn’t anything spectacular that stood out. Thanks WWE….
